Get Well Bug

Me and the girls were talking today about sending you one of those free Hallmark cards via email to cheer you up. They love those two little mexican accented animals. Well I guess they are not free anymore. So From the familia Peterson we hope you get feeling better and enjoy the diet.

Why I have grey hair and heartburn

I know I have posted a lot today, but I have to share this. Wednesday, Beth came home from school like normal only, no Sam. A couple weeks ago he didn't get off the bus, but the bus driver came back around and dropped him off so, I didn't panic right away. Beth couldn't remember if he was even on the bus. Still, I'm not panicking. Beth can be in her own world sometimes. We wait for a few minutes and Bee offers that there was a sub bus driver. I decide I better call the school and let them know in case the bus driver radios in. The wonderful secretaries at Kanesville, who know and love Sam, panic. She tells me that he had asked to use the phone a few times to call his mom because she was coming to pick him up. Oh, great. Starting to panic a bit. The secretary checks outside. No Sam. Checks the playground. No Sam. Intercom all the teachers to check around the school and in their rooms. No Sam. I'm still on the phone debating about what to do. In comes a mom to the office and says she saw a little blond boy walking on 3300. SAM!!! I jump in the car. I found him a mile from Kanesville (in front of Russell's) dragging his jacket and backpack in the dirt. He walked through major construction. We are talking huge backhoes and stuff and crossed 2550. I opened the door and said very panicked, "What are you doing? Why didn't you get on the bus? What were you thinking?" You know what he said to me? "Good thing you got here mom. Man! I almost had to walk all the way home!"

Hair and Eyebrows

So don't get me started on the 'tween thing. Miss Beth decided to pay Mandee the $4 to have her eyebrows waxed and like a sucker I agreed. I kinda thought she would think it hurt so bad that she would never want to do that again. Boy was I mistaken. She was pleased as punch and plans on doing it regularly. I did hear that waxing your eyebrows too young can give you droopy eyelids, so I need to google that. This isn't the best pic because I took it with my phone right when she got home. Her face is a little shiny and red from the wax and she didn't want to smile. She actually looks really good now. Kurt and I think a little too good for our sakes. Notice, she also chose to have four inches cut off her hair. I guess she decided she could never "put Michigan to shame."

Soccer in Utah

Yesterday was Sam's first game of the season. Utah weather. Freezing cold with fresh snow on the mountains and kids playing soccer on the muddy grass. Sam's a good kid, but not a soccer player like our pro Michigan. In this pic I think he might be running the wrong way. But man, I love that kid. He's happy to be there and of course he's excited for the treat.

It's good to be Five

And finally own a girl webkin!!! Thanks, Grandma

Stop Yelling at Me

This post is to basically keep Jen from yelling at Kari for not yelling at me and reminding me to make a post. Also no pictures will be posted to keep Sherry from yelling at me about telling strangers too much about our kids because we don't want a Life Time for Woman story happening here in my house on the man hater channel. The doctor yells at me for eating too many simple carbohydrates. My boss yells at me for being late because I can't get out of bed because my thyroid might be not active enough and I am tired all the time, maybe that is why I am slow and waddle when I walk. And to top it off the plumber is going to yell at me for plugging up the pipes with all of my hair that I am losing.

Some times you can't win.

Night everyone and have a good week. :-)

Rain Regatta, BYU BB and a few odds and ends!

Our first Rain Regatta, Jake designed an amazing Shark ship, he painted and decorated all on his own. got to love the Lego shark first mate with his handy light saber.... the other scouts didn't have a chance!

So the Cochran house hold have been a little obsessed with BYU Basketball this springs! Ben got the privilege to attend both games this week (his mom only got to attend one) Here's hoping they make it to the final four!!!

Last week Jake had an appt to have his tonsils looked at. Josh and I drove Jake up to the Denver Children's hospital. Josh was very nervous during the whole drive and almost in tears to meet a new doctor. I assured him the appt was for Jake and not to worry. He finally calmed down, thanks to a very nice Lego sculpture the office had on display. We met Dr. Allen who examined Jake and determined there was no need to have Jake's tonsils out. Dr. Allen gave Jake two options to end the appt. The first option was to get Jake and Josh a sticker at the receptionist. The second option was to give Jake's little brother a shot in the bum! Josh's color immediately drained from his face and I knew we were close to a melt down. Thank goodness Jake saved the day! He told the doctor if it was my older brother here I would chose option 2, the shot in the bum. Since its my little brother I will chose the sticker! Relief came over Josh and we all giggled at the doctor, who's mouth was wide open. I think the doctor couldn't believe he had just been outwitted!

Last week I took a moment to play the wii with Josh. He was eager to show me the latest level of donkey kong country. After playing for a few minutes Josh looked at me and gave a long sigh.... then stated, I see we are going to have to play the old fashion way!!! NOW what is that supposed to mean?

I've got 2 year olds!

So, this morning we were desperately trying to get ready for church and Sam came to me with his polo shirt on backwards over top of his sweater. Of course, I was out of patience and got after him. While I was trying to remedy the fashion faux pas, I said, "Come on buddy. You're not 2. This is how a 2 year old gets dressed." Later, when he was whining about getting his shoes on, Bethany, his second mother, says "Come on Sam! You're acting like a 2 year old. I haven't even acted like a 2 year old since I was 4!" Ain't that the truth.

Tractor buddy

Matt and Jack both had a delightful time farming on Saturday. The sun was out, they fired up the tractor, and took a 3 hour joy ride. Hard to say which little puppy enjoyed himself more....

Bad Heaven

This morning Sam and I were talking, and I happened to be singing "I've Been Everywhere, Man", like my dad always used to do. When I got to the part about the desert, Sam interrupted and said,
Sam: Whoa, you've been to the desert?
Me: Yes
Sam: On your mission?
Me: No, just out west here. The desert is awesome, we shoot guns, start fires...and cuss!
Sam: You'd better be kidding, if you cuss, you'll go to...bad heaven!
Me: What's bad heaven?
Sam: Well, it's not good heaven, like where Jesus lives. It's bad heaven.
Me: Oh.

Later on in the day he said if you broke the law or got earrings you'd go to bad heaven.

Ogden Train Show

Just moments before we saw Thomas, Milan was on my shoulders so I wouldn't lose her. Little did I know that Thomas was in the building. Once she saw him, and she was the first, she screamed in the language of Lonnie "Thomas" and dove from my shoulders. No kidding good thing I has a hold of her ankle as it was they only reason that she didn't tackle the train set. We actually got a photo of Milan looking at the camera and not the train. She thought that his eyes were the best, as they moved from one side to the other.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon

Fast Sunday means no meetings. Yahoo!
Hence, we painted nails and made Deviled Dogs.

Before:

After: Deviled Dogs:

They actually have a little more frosting on top and a strawberry.

Way over the top! My Devil Dog / Swiffer Sweeper.

Actually, its nice that I don't have to sweep as much anymore. When I cook, this is where he stations himself. Usually his eyes are trained on the floor where any morsel might land. He's on it like blue bonnet.

Makeover Madness

Bethany planned a huge makeover session for her dolls. She wanted to take before and after pics for a post on the blog. This is as far as her attention span got. This is the aftershot of one doll. She actually looks much improved. I helped her cut the dolls hair. It was waist length but impossibly ratty, so we gave her a bob. Beth put the outfit together. Lately, Bethany has been the Widdison's own fashionista.

Sheep with the double rifle

I finally got to shoot something with the gun that Sharyce got me for my birthday. Nothing takes better care of a sheep than an oz of lead to the boiler-room.
