Karate Belt Test
Sam had his first belt test on Friday. He was testing for a yellow belt. We will find out Wednesday if he made it. We didn't know what to expect. Sam and I found out it involved a lot of waiting and watching. It was very official. I think he was rather nervous, but he did great. I was very proud of him. If you ask him what he remembers about it, it is that mom made banana pie to celebrate. He was starving the whole time we were there and that made it harder to concentrate.

After.
I've been needing a filing cabinet for my sheet music for teaching. Saw this on Pinterest. Yes, Matt. Stop groaning. Anyways, I had the cabinet in my crawl space. Some old thing we picked up for free from a job Kurt had when we where first married. The contact paper I had from a previous project. Total cost...1 hour, or 3 episodes of Modern Family, of my time. :)

Conversation with Josh
Josh has a Valentine Tea Party tomorrow. One special guest can attend with Josh. Josh told Brian that he didn't think he could come because of work, Brian said, "I'll try to be there" Josh replied, "What if mom wants to come?" Brian jokingly said, "Then we will arm wrestle for it" Josh nodded and then said, "So that means you will be there!" (Josh will be so surprised to see his mother attending the tea party :>)

Marina B-day
Conversation with Jake
A few days ago Brian asked Ben and Jake if they would like to go on a back packing trip to southern Utah to view the lunar eclipse with our friends this spring.
Jake declined immediately stating, "NO, THANK YOU, THAT'S WHERE BEARS AND WOLVES LIVE." Brian asked that he think about it. Later that evening a discussion came up of what the hike would entail. Jake listened most intently and then concluded to Brian, "Mmmmm, NATURE IS JUST NOT MY THING!" We tried to stifle our giggles. Trying to convince Jake that it would be a great adventure... we were explaining how you would go the bathroom in the wilderness, you know, find a log to hang over, dig a whole, do your business and then bury your tp... Jake with a disgusted look on his face, shaking his head oh so violently stated, "WHY DO WE WANT TO DO THIS?!?" LOL
