I love my dentist!
I have this really great dentist that I'm willing to drive to North Ogden for. I aslo have this little 2 year old neighbor friend who has this weird snaggle tooth in the front that needs to be pulled or something. It is like 2 teeth in one. Weird. So, I asked my dentist about it and told him that my friend wasn't impressed with the recommendation her dentist gave her. He agreed to do me a favor and give my friend a free consult to see if he had any ideas. I gave the receptionist her name in case she called so she would know to set her up for a free appointment. Anyways, today in my mailbox I get this $25 dollar gift card for the referral. Totally made my day. So if anybody wants a great dentist, go to Marc Collman and tell them I sent you so that I can go shopping! Booyah!

Let the Games Begin
Labor Day Weekend
Gas and Go
So, this a picture of how much gas the kid put in our new ride before selling it to us. Actually, I took the picture because I like it when car manufacturers realize how dumb I am and they have to tell me what side of the car my gas tank is on. Seriously, I'm not being sarcastic. I can never remember. Maybe because Kurt and I have had so many cars. I'll post a picture of the awesome 1999 Ford Explorer with the "ugly brown" (Bethany says) interior for you Jen when I take one. :)

Growing Up
One of the hardest things I've had to do as a mother is let my daughter pick out her own clothes and do her own hair. It kills me. In a weird way, I've lost my favorite life size Barbie doll. So, I'm still nursing this wound on a daily basis, and I hate to admit that it has been the start of a few fights between Beth and I. This morning I walked by her room to see her holding up two shirts in front of Boswell, who is perched in his favorite spot on her bed. "Which one should I wear today?" she says in her sing song voice she reserves for the dog. "This one, or.....this one?" Apparently, which ever one the dog sniffs first is the winner. I think I said "sonofa" quiet enough that she didn't hear. I hate that dog!

Beth's Latest Culinary Creation
Bee found this recipe in a library book called It's Raining Cupcakes.
S'mores Cupcakes
Cupcakes
1 Cup Flour
3/4 Cup Sugar
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/3 Cup Water
3 TBLS unsweetened Cocoa
1 egg, lightly whisked
1/2 tsp Vanilla
Frosting
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (we only had salted)
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 7 oz jar marshmallow cream
4 graham crackers
15 Hershey Kisses (we used pieces of a choc candy bar)
Preheat oven to 350. line muffin tins with cupcake papers.
In a large missing bowl, mix flour, sugar, and baking soda together with a whisk. In a saucepan, melt the butter/margarine with the water and cocoa on low heat. When completely melted, remove from heat. whisk egg in a separate bowl and add to flour mixture, along with the melted butter/margarine mixture, buttermilk and vanilla. beat with electric mixer on low until smooth. fill cupcake liners half full. Bake 18-20 mins, until inserted toothpick comes out clean. Let cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
for frosting, beat softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Add marshmallow cream and mix. spread on cooled cupcakes with knife. Use a food chopper to finely chop graham crackers, or break into pieces and put in a plastic bag and roll over them with a rolling pin. Set aside. Unwrap candy kisses an place one on top of each cupcake, then sprinkle graham cracker crumbs across the top. Makes about 15 cupcakes. Bethany and I discovered this makes 14 medium cupcakes with enough frosting and graham for double the amount. Next time we would double the batter recipe or half the frosting recipe. They were a hit at the friends BBQ we took them to.
We had fun making frosting graham sandwiches with the leftovers.
Rock Wall Revisited
We went rock wall climbing again on Saturday with our friends. This time Sam had a go at it. Here are some more pics to make grandma's stomach turn.
The one of Sam and his neighbor friend is darling. They are best buds. He has been helping her out at school this year. She just started kindergarten and he is watching out for his interest. Her mom took this pic and told me later, "the best part was when I said if you two get married this will be a cute picture for your reception" followed by Sam saying "I'm already going to marry M------" To him it is a done deal and there is no reason to question it. He told me he is going to marry her in the temple, be a police officer so he can put smokers and tatoo men in jail and have three kids. 2 boys named Lightning, Mater, and a girl named Ramona. lol
