One of the Perks of Joshua's Preschool
Nine Large Bucks munched right outside the door of Joshua's preschool. It was so fun to see what a live deer looks like! (the dead ones on grandpa's wall just don't do these animals justice, sorry grandpa)

The Petterons 1st Anniversary
i thought it would be fun to make something on our anniversary that we could look back and laugh at...i don't think the following will disappoint us in 50 years:
it all started out quite clean and civil.... |
matthew tried connecting with his inner artist...bless his heart he tried |
finger painting took more focus and concentration than we expected |
post battle treaty |
little red house by matt, ash, and merv |
merv the majestic by matt |
opps by ash....it may take me more than a year to learn how to spell Peterson... |
A little MLK Day fun.
On Monday we all had the day off and decided to go to the Nickelcade and have some fun. After Sherry got over all of the germy kids running around she showed the girls how to play skeeball. She did a good job and the girls had fun they got a lot of tickets. The highlight of the day was when I got the jackpot on some stupid ball drop game. Net ticket income, 575, over half of our winnings. Too bad it wasn't Wendover.
Milan has happy watching the tickets pour out of the machine. She was sure that see was going to get the big prize at the prize booth. She ened up getting a gun that makes bubbles. The other girls got PEZ despensers.

Ben's first broken bone
Ben broke is collar bone yesterday in two places! He was playing recess football. Even with all the pain, Ben is pretty happy. It was the last play of the game and he intercepted the ball and went for a touch down. He won the game! Ben also is now part of the Cochran club. Grandpa Cochran broke is collar bone playing football in high school. Brian broke his collar bone playing football in College and now Ben in elementary school. He is so excited to keep up with tradition! 2 down one more kid to go....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT!
Tonight you will hear from me Matt! So my dear, LOVELY, little, wifey Ashie bought me an iphone4 for my birthday :-D I know what my sisters are thinking, that it is still a month away, but i broke my last iphone and we agreed it would be nice to have one when we travel to the alberkquerquereee (not going to even attempt to spell that one right) in a few weeks, so we decided to get one early! This life changing event has been a turning point for me. From here on out i will refer to my life as that before the iphone4 and my life after the iphone4!

Sunday night at the Widdison's
The most "exciting" thing that happened around here this week is that Bethany caught a terrible cold. One of those colds that make you feel like you really just might die. The first night it felt like she slept about 1 hour. Finally, around 4am I told her to go watch T.V.. So after that we set up camp in the Lazy Boy in the play room. That way she could be elevated a bit to help her not to cough so much. It worked pretty good. It's become a nice little sick room. She didn't want me to take a pic of her fever blisters, so sorry the pic is blurry. It's all I could get. Poor thing. She gets them every time she runs a high temp. Tonight we are on the mend. Kurt and Sam are reading their bedtime story. A highlight of Sam's day. Tonight is the Magic Tree House, the one about the pirates. Boswell is tired. When Beth is up, he's up. And since she has been on house arrest since Thursday, he hasn't had his alone kennel sleep time during the day. So, as you can see I think Martin Luther Day will be a final sick day for Beth and off to school Tuesday. :) Kurt has to work, as usual, so nothing much "exciting" going on around here. Gnite.

First Times
Proud Papa or Mad Mama?
AR stands for accelerated reader. This is a program that Bethany's school does. Basically, every quarter based on their reading level, they are required to read a certain amount and test on their comprehension. If they reach 100%, they are rewarded with a field trip. The student with the highest percentage receives an additional reward which is a $5 gift card to Walmart. Not to brag, BUT Bethany usually wins the gift card. This quarter she has been a little bit lazy. When she realized she wasn't going to have the highest percentage in the class, she decided she would hit 100% exactly. She started checking out books that would get her close to, but not over the 100% mark. Once she reached 99.3% she realized she had a little problem. She could only check out books that would be worth one percent, which would put her at 100.3%. No good! She checked out a book on jelly fish, read it 4 times and purposely missed 3 questions on the test. What a poop! A smart one though!

What Ben did over Christmas Vacation
Brian bought the boys a basketball hoop for Christmas and since our driveway is not flat we put it up in the garage. Ben has a goal of at least 100 baskets a day which he easily accomplishes in about 20 minutes. He has been logging about 2 hours in his heated court (notice all the crap around him, yea we haven't organized the garage since we moved in, Matt and Brian where going to make shelves over thanksgiving but we had too much fun eating, playing games and fighting over Aunt Ashley's attention!)Hoping for a NBA all star one day! I would be happy if he makes it out of high school with no major injuries

"I fly? No, you fall'd"
Shari should get my title. Land before time moment. Anyways, Kurt got an Ifly flight for Christmas from the fam. Kurt and his friends Reggie and Nic had their flight Saturday morning. It was fun. Even fun to watch. 2 one minute sessions and the old men are pretty sore today. It was a little crazy. What will we think of next?
The winner of the contest....Kurtis
My friend Michelle had an ugly sweater/New Years Eve party. Way fun. Kurt was the grand prize winner. Ugliest sweater by a landslide - sorry mom. The sweater has seen better days. This is the first time in years that all of the Widdisons were awake to ring in the new year. Sam zonked out putting on his shoes to go home. Way to make it past midnight buddy! The sweaty guy is our friend Nic. He was an ugly sweater. Ha, Ha.
